Nag Champa
Nag Champa Spa Bar with Activated Charcoal and Shea Butter
Nag Champa has a sweet, slightly woodsy smell that many people describe as calming, warming, and moist.
The most famous component of Nag Champa is the Champa flower, from the Magnolia Champaca tree. Indian women have been known to tuck a Champa blossom behind their ear, letting the scent escape as their body heat warms the petals. According to some botanists, the tree is so fragrant that its aroma can be detected from several blocks away.
Activated Bamboo Charcoal Powder is widely used as a topical body treatment that captures bodily toxins in its minuscule pores and eliminates them. Through the process of adsorption, harmful elements bind themselves to the powder and thereby prevent toxins from being reabsorbed into the body. Known for its natural deep cleansing and exfoliating properties, which allow it to gently remove dead cells without dehydrating the skin. A gentle yet effective cleanser for all skin types. Furthermore, its anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-microbial activities along with its intensive moisturizing properties make it especially beneficial in soap.
High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter an ideal soap ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body, especially your face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin.*
Look and feel: All soaps are made by hand in small batches with natural ingredients, and like any product made by hand, has color differences and small imperfections. Unlike commercially produced products, color stabilizers are not used in my soaps, resulting in bars that will darken as they age. This is normal for real soap, and won't affect its performance.
Extra time isn't spent finishing the edges, shaving off imperfections, etc. This allows me more time to make more soap, as well as a lower price point to my customer. Due to their naturally high moisture content, handcrafted soaps may be softer than the average commercial bar. To prolong the life of your soap I recommend storing it on an open tray with good air circulation and drainage
Inside: I only use what’s needed to produce a soap or skin care item. Ingredients without a distinct purpose and/or benefit are left out. Most items are scented with only essential oils. Because not all scents can be recreated with essential oils only, some products will contain a fragrance oil. All my fragrance oils are phthalate-free. Items will be identified with what scent or essential oil was added in the ingredient listing. For the oils and butters, organic and fair trade are chosen whenever those options are available.
Packaging: Sourced from recyclable materials whenever possible, the packaging is minimal and functional, to keep the soaps dry during shipping, as well as keep the scents from blending.
Ingredients: Shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, sodium hydroxide, activated charcoal and fragrant oil
